Restorative Exercise is a whole body approach to movement and health, based on the research-backed realization that many of our modern health issues have mechanical causes. It was created by biomechanist Katy Bowman, author and founder of The Nutritious Movement™ Center. Restorative Exercise isn't about how you look, but rather about how you move, how much of yourself you move, and how often you move.
Would you like to be stronger and have better balance?
In your Restorative Exercise session I will help you improve your alignment and establish a new optimal level of movement, based on safe and effective exercises grounded in the science of biomechanics. Through these simple but challenging exercises you will become more aware of how you move your body, where it is weak and where it is strong. You will discover underused areas, places where you are tight, and learn to bring back balance to all of these areas. This work will increase your functional balance along the way. You will discover your patterns of movement and develop new, healthier ones that will bring circulation and health to every cell in your body.
Would you like all of your body parts to function better?
With Restorative Exercise you will rediscover your reflexive core, awaken your butt, discover new mobility in your feet, learn how to breathe, and create a healthier you!
You will reduce the wear and tear on your joints by creating optimal muscle length and joint space. You will move through life with more ease and less pain.
You will create an elastic and responsive pelvic floor, eliminating pelvic pain and embarrassing leaking.
Restorative Exercise is also a whole life program. Instead of carving time out of your life to exercise, you can add these movements throughout your day, increasing your movement and your quality of life.
Your body will work better so that it will carry you through your life and your favorite activities with ease.

Katy Bowman sums up the theory behind Restorative Exercise and Nutritious Movement in her welcome video:
